Vendor Module Manager

At the vendor module manager page you can manage all your vendor specific modules that appear at the storefront. You can arrange the vendor’s modules, change the vendor’s module settings and even create custom content modules for specific vendors.

Please note: The vendor module manager is only for vendor specific modules. These vendor specific modules are modules that are configured separately for each vendor. If you want to use the same setting for all vendors or don’t want your vendors to be able to configure their own modules, use the modules listed in the general mall module manager instead.

The vendor module manager offers a subset of the modules that are available at the global mall module manager and includes modules to display the vendor information, vendor categories or the vendor location box. Vendors can also create custom content modules to display at vendor pages.

The vendor modules offer basic settings for the vendor specific version of the modules. Additional settings, such as if to display a logo or not at a certain module alongside other information, or how many items a certain module type should display are not available for vendor specific modules.

The active template section:

The active template section gives you information about the current template and the available layout positions for vendors of the current skin template. This is usually a subset of all the positions a skin template offers.

Some of the usually available vendor specific module positions are: left_1, left_2, right_1,right_2

Please note: Only the positions available for vendor modules are shown. If you need additional positions to be available for vendors or you don’t want certain layout positions to be available for vendor specific modules, you can change the list of available module layout positions at the module layout page.

The select vendor form:

The select vendor form is used to display and manage vendor specific module sets and also to manage the global setting preset for vendor specific modules.

If global settings is selected, the available modules form lists all available vendor specific modules. Changing any setting of these global settings modules in the list will affect the vendor module preset for new vendors.

After selecting a vendor, the selected vendor’s modules will be displayed at the available modules list where the vendor specific modules can be managed.

Please note: The vendor’s module set is created either the first time a vendor opens the vendor module manager page or the first time an administrator selects this vendor through the select vendor form.

The vendor’s initial module configuration is created using the modules and their settings in the list, that display when global settings is selected at the vendor module manager. The global setting is the preset for new vendor specific module sets.

Any previously created or edited vendor specific module sets are not affected by changing the preset later.

The available modules form:

The available modules form shows an overview of all the available vendor modules of the selected vendor, or your global vendor preset settings for the modules (if global settings is selected) and allows you to easily manage your vendor module preset or the modules of a specific vendor.

The information shown for each module includes the module title, if the module is active, the layout position of the module, the sorting priority of the module, the pages the module is set for, the module type, the internal module ID number, and if language specific versions of the module are available for this module

The top bar of the form offers a search functionality where you can search for a specific module title or module type. Type in the name or part of the name you are looking for and click on the “Go” button to only display modules, that match your search string.

Several drop down boxes also allow you to filter the displayed modules.

The “Active” drop down box allows you to only display active or disabled modules.

The “Position” drop down box allows you to only display modules that are available at specific layout positions.

Only the positions available for vendor modules are shown. If you need additional positions to be available for vendors or you don’t want certain layout positions to be available for vendor specific modules, you can change the list of available module layout positions at the module layout page.

If a previously available vendor specific position is removed later, the selector will display a N/A (not available) after the layout position name.

The “Pages” drop down box allows you to only display modules that are set for certain pages.

Please note: Only a subset of all available shop pages is available for vendors, since vendor specific modules only display at certain vendor specific pages.

Leave the drop down selections at “Any” if you don’t want to use this filter.

You can also combine the filters in the drop down boxes and the search string.

e.g.: If you are looking for a certain “bar” that is set at the homepage, you can select “home” at the pages filter and then enter bar and click on the “Go” button. This will display all modules with the “bar” type or name that are set to display at the homepage.
