Product Inventory

You have several options how to create and track your product’s inventory.

The inventory control section:

The inventory control section lets you define if and how you want to control your product’s inventory.

The following options are available:

Option Description
No Inventory Tracking Don’t track the product’s inventory.
Track Inventory at product level Inventory is only tracked for the product (disregarding any attributes or attribute combinations).
Once the inventory reaches the stock warning limit, customers will not be able to purchase the product.
Track inventory at attribute level - Track only defined combinations This method tracks all defined combinations.
Undefined combinations are not tracked, but are still available for purchase.
Once a defined combination reaches the stock warning limit, customers will not be able to purchase it.
Track inventory at attribute level - Sell only defined combinations This method only allows defined attribute combinations to be sold.
Customer’s will not be able to purchase undefined combinations
Once a defined combination reaches the stock warning limit, customers will not be able to purchase it.

Once you select a tracking method (except the no inventory tracking method), more options get available where you can define your inventory stock and set up, how the product is handled, if the stock reaches 0 or hits a defined minimum.

The inventory rule section:

The inventory rule section: At the inventory rule section, you can define, how the product is handled once the allowed minimum is reached.

The following options are available:

Option Description
Do not display item on user site The product will not displayed at the storefront, if the allowed minimum is reached.
Display “Out of Stock” message An “Out of Stock” message will appear when a customer visits the product page at the storefront.

The inventory control on product level section:

The inventory on product level section is only available, when the „Track Inventory at product level“ method is chosen for inventory tracking.

The following fields are available:

Field Description
Number of items in inventory The total stock of your product.
Do not allow a sale, if inventory is equal or less than Customer’s won’t be able to purchase this product once this limit is reached.

Click on the “Save Changes Button” to activate these settings for the product.

The inventory control on product’s attribute level section:

The inventory inventory control on product’s attribute level section is only available, when one of the “Track inventory at attribute level” methods is chosen for inventory tracking.

The following fields are available:

Field Description
Attribute The selected attribute option for which you want to define an inventory record.
Product Sub ID The unique identifier for the product’s inventory record.

Please note: The sub ID must be unique for the product. Don’t use the same sub ID for several attributes or attribute combinations of the same product. You can use the same sub IDs for different products.
Number of items in inventory The total stock of your product for the selected attribute or attribute combination.
Do not allow a sale, if inventory is equal or less than Customer’s won’t be able to purchase this product with the selected attribute or attribute combination once this limit is reached.
Activate these settings This setting is active for the the selected attribute or attribute combination.

Once you selected the desired options click on the “Add New Inventory Record” button to add this record to your inventory list.

The record will then appear in the current inventory list below.

The current inventory list:

The inventory inventory list is only available, when one of the “Track inventory at attribute level” methods is chosen for inventory tracking.

The current inventory list shows an overview of all defined attributes and attribute combinations in your inventory records.

The list also allows you to bulk change the activate flag, the attribute’s sub ID, the current stock and stock warning quantities. The attribute options are not changeable through this list.

Click on the “Apply Changes” button, to save the changes to your inventory records.

If you want to completely remove an inventory record, click on the delete icon on the right side of each inventory record item.
