You can set up a plethora of payment methods for your customers.
Depending on the selected payment methods and/or modes either the vendor or the mall owner receives the initial payments when a customer orders items from your shop.
Some payment methods, like PayPal Adaptive or Stripe Connect allow you split the payments and distribute the payments to several vendors at once and also allow you to immediately charge fees (and send the fee amount to your own account) upon purchases.
The payment mode form:

The payment mode determines, if vendors need to set up their own payment methods or if the mall’s selected payment methods are used when a customer purchases items through the shop. It also determines, if products from multiple vendors can be paid at once (mall checkout payment mode) or not (vendor checkout payment mode).
| Checkout Payment Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Mall (default) | The mall’s payment methods are used when a customer checks out. The mall owner enters all the credentials for the payment gateways. Although the mall owner setups the payment gateway, some payment methods, like PayPal Adaptive, require vendors to enter at least some credentials (e.g.: a PayPal eMail). Other payment methods (e.g.: Stripe Connect), may require the vendors to perform some actions (e.g. connect their own Stripe account to the mall), before transactions can be performed for the vendors. Customers can checkout with items from multiple vendors in the cart at once. The mall receives the payment and distributes it to it’s vendor’s after the deduction of any vendor fees. Some payment methods, like PayPal Adaptive or Stripe Connect distribute the fees (if a commission fee was set up) and split the payments automatically to all vendors and also the mall. |
| Vendor | The vendor’s own payment methods are used when a customer checks out. Customers can only checkout with items from a single vendor at a time. This is technically necessary since the checkout process uses the vendor’s payment gateways only. Please note: This requires that a vendor enters his own credentials for the set payment gateways. It requires a full setup of each payment gateway used. Vendor fees are not collected automatically and require either the mall to collect or the vendor to pay any arisen fees. |
If you use vendor payment methods, make sure, that either the vendor has access to the payment methods (vendor payment privilege at the vendor account page) or that the administrator enters the necessary settings for the vendors.
Please note: If you use PayPal Adaptive or Stripe Connect, make sure, that vendors have the appropriate privileges for payments (The vendor payment privilege is necessary). With PayPal Adaptive vendors need to add/edit their PayPal emails so that PayPal Adaptive can distribute the payments to all vendors. With Stripe Connect, vendors need to connect their Stripe accounts so that the mall can distribute the payments to all vendors through Stripe. PayPal Adaptive and Stripe Connect are mall payment methods, so mall needs to be used as checkout payment mode for PayPal Adaptive or Stripe Connect to appear as available payment methods at the storefront.
The enable/add payment gateway form:

The enable/add gateway form is used to add payment gateways to your shop. If you need to set up a payment gateway for a spefic vendor, select a vendor from the vendor select box before choosing a payment gateway.
Not all payment methods that are available for mall owners are available for vendors too. You can further limit the availability of payment methods for vendors through the “Available Vendor Payment Methods” tab.
The available vendor payment methods list:

To make a payment method available for setup through vendors, select the “active” checkbox at the right side of the vendor payment methods list.
Most of the payment options listed as available vendor payment methods are for the vendor checkout mode with the exception of PayPal Adaptive and Stripe Connect. PayPal Adaptive and Stripe Connect are payment methods for the mall checkout mode (since multiple vendors can checkout at once).

Besides realtime payment methods, you can also setup custom payment methods through the link at the top of the page and through the payment method select box. Custom payment methods are methods, that are not processed through a payment gateway or payment processor, but are handled manually. Please refer to the custom payment method page for further information regarding custom payment methods.
After adding a payment gateway to the shop, you need to setup this payment gateway before it can be used to charge customers.
Please refer to your payment gateway’s documentation or website on how to set up up a specific payment gateway. Usually you receive your payment gateway’s credentials through email when signing up for that payment gateway. They should also be available at designated areas at your account on the payment gateway provider’s website.
