At the category management page, you can manage your product categories.
You can create new categories, manage your existing categories, manage the different language versions of your categories or delete categories.
Categories are organized as a tree, each category has a parent category. Primary categories have the root of the tree as parent.
Default category view (collapses subcategories):

The category list shows an overview of all the shop’s categories and is presented in a tree view.
The information displayed, includes the category name and category key (in brackets), an arrow indicator, if this category contains subcategories (indicated by an up or down arrow next to the name and key) and in a second row, the numerical category ID.
One or more flag icons show all available languages for each category. A green border around the flag indicates, that this category is present for this language. If the category was not created for a language, a red border is shown.
Please note: When creating categories for multiple languages, make sure that all parent categories of the category you want to display, down to the root category, are present for a specific language. Since categories are organized like trees, if the parent categories are not available or missing in a certain language, the subcategory in that language won’t display either.
Special system categories have a light gray color scheme for the category name/category key line.
If a category was created by a vendor with category management privileges or the category was set for one or multiple vendors, the IDs of the vendors will be displayed alongside the other category details.
