ParentCategory

The parent category section allows you to select a parent category for your current category and one or multiple vendor’s for a category.

The parent category section:

At the parent category section you can select the parent category of your current category. The parent category determines where the category will appear in your category tree.

Please note: Vendors with category management privileges, can only select parent categories, that are at least the minimum level for vendor categories when they create or edit categories themselves.

Please note: The Root category is level 0, primary categories are level 1, secondary categories are level 2, etc.

By default, the minimum category level where vendor categories are added to is 1. This means, that vendors can create subcategories of primary categories, secondary categories, etc., but can’t create primary categories.

If 0 is set as minimum vendor root category level, vendors with category management privileges can also create primary categories ,which is not recommended.

You can also select, if the category is available for all vendors or specific vendors only. If you want all vendors to be able to select this category for products, select “All”. If you only want selected vendors to be able to select this category for products, add the vendors who should be able to use this category for products.

If you add “All” to the vendor selection, the category will be available for all vendors, regardless, if you add any other specific vendors to the selection.
