The category details page allows you add new categories or edit all the properties and settings of your existing categories.
Each category has a plethora of properties and settings that allow you to setup categories for multiple purposes.
The category properties offer general settings, like settings for the category name and key, the meta title or meta keywords, the sorting priority, etc.
Among the advanced options the category properties offer are, that categories can be restricted to be accessible from certain customer groups only, categories can be password protected to allow only users with the right password to access them.
You also get several settings, that change the styling of the category, so you can setup a categories for multiple purposes.
Among the styling functions, there are functions to show the category’s subcategories at the top of the category page, to show subcategory images alongside the subcategory names on top of the catalog page, settings to show the navigation help or not and other functions.
Categories can also have several images for banners, icons and other purposes.
Some category settings, like the list of user groups for categories, need to be setup before they can be used with categories.
After you entered all the information for the category click on the “Save Button” to save any changes or to upload category images.
Click on the “Reset Form” button to reset any changes you made in the form.
Click on the “Manage Categories” button to return to the category management page.
