Auction Details

At the auctions details page you can check and view all details of a single auction and manage the auction’s status.

The auction details section:

The auction details section shows overall information about the auction and it’s current status.

The following fields are shown:

Field Description
Auction ID The auction ID
Product The title of the auctioned product
Product ID The product ID of the auctioned product
List Price The list price of the auctioned product, if the product has a default price set.
Minimum Price The minimum price (start price) for the auctioned product
Start Date The start date of the auction
End Date The end date of the auction
Status The current auction status
The following auction statuses are available:
  • Pending
  • Suspended
  • Canceled
  • Ended
  • Completed

Click on the product title or product name to open the auctioned product’s product details page.

An auction can have one of the following statuses:

Status Description
Pending The default auction status of a new auction is pending.
Pending auctions and the associated products can appear at the storefront at the catalog or product pages.
Suspended An auction that is put on hold, gets the suspended status. An auction will usually be suspended, if the product or auction has to be reviewed by the system administrator for various reason, e.g.: the product type is not allowed for your shop, etc.
Suspended auctions still appear at the storefront, but customer’s won’t be able to place bids, unless the auction is resumed again. A resumed auction will get the pending status.
Canceled An auction was canceled, before the auction time was up-
If an auction is canceled, it doesn’t appear at the storefront.
Ended The auction has ended.
An auction ends either, if the auction time is up, or if the administrator ended the auction prematurely.
Ended auction will still appear at the storefront, till a new auction starts.
Even after a new auction has started, the auction will remain viewable through the product details page at the storefront.As soon as an auction has ended,customers who placed a bid for this auction will get a notification email to inform them that the auction has ended and if they won the auction or lost the auction.
Completed An auction is completed.
To complete an auction, the customer has to complete the checkout process with the auctioned item.

The placed bids section:

The placed bids section shows all placed bids for an auction with details about the bidder and the bid.

The shown information includes the bid ID, the name of the bidder, the telephone number of the bidder, the email address of the bidder, the price the bidder suggested (the placed bid) and the date of the bid.

The action icons on the right side of the list provide additional functionality.

Click on the “delete” icon to delete the selected bid completely.

Please note: Since deleting a bid might alter the winner of an auction, you might need to notify the new “winner” of an auction manually, that he may acquire the auctioned item for the placed bid.

Click on “Auction Management” button to return to the auction management page where all auctions are listed.

Click on the “Resume Auction” button to resume the auctions. You might want to resume an auction, if it was previously suspended or manually ended.

Please note: Resuming ended auctions is not recommended, if customers already placed bids for those auctions. If an auction was previously ended, customers might have received notifications about winning or losing these auctions, if they already placed bids for these auctions.

Click on the “Suspend Auction” button, to temporarily suspend the auction. You might want to suspend an auction, if the auctioned item isn’t allowed on your site, if it is against your TOS, etc.

Please note: Suspended auctions, still appear at the storefront, but customers can’t place any further bids for suspended auctions.
Suspended auctions can still be resumed and customers will be able to place new bids again, if the end time wasn’t reached yet.

Click on the “Delete Auction” button, to completely delete the auction and all placed bids for this auction.

Please note: Deleted auctions can’t be resumed or recovered. Use this functionality with caution.

Click on the end “End Auction” button, to end the auction prematurely, before the time is up for this auction.

Please note: Ended auctions can still be resumed and customers will be able to place new bids again, if the set time isn’t up yet.

As soon as an auction has ended, customers who placed a bid for this auction will get a notification email to inform them that the auction has ended and if they won the auction or lost the auction.
