Alongside the other purchase functions, the shop also provides an auction functionality for all products in the shop. Products can be either sold directly for a fixed price or exclusively in auctions. It is also possible to offer a product in an auction and sell it for a fixed price at the same time.
The auction functionality provides you with all necessary functions and options to setup product auctions.
Before you can use and set products to be available through auctions, you need to enable the auctions functionality in the auction settings.
You can set a start and end date for auctions, a minimum price and also setup a minimum increase for bids. You can also schedule auctions for the same item for the future. The end date can be either set individually or set to always be after a set amount of days.
Please note: Only one auction can be active at the same time for the same product.Nevertheless you can schedule several auctions for the same item for different dates.Overlapping auction schedules are not allowed.
You can also end auctions prematurely, suspend auctions, resume auctions or completely delete auctions. You can also selectively delete placed bids.
Currently, auctions are only available for a single item, no matter how many items are available in the inventory.
Please note: When a customer places a bid for an item, the placed bid becomes the highest bid. Customers can’t place a maximum bid and have the highest bid progress to the next necessary minimum bid until another customer places a bid, till a maximum bid is reached.
Customers need to login, before they can place a bid for an auctioned item.
After the auction has ended, customers will be notified that the auction has ended and receive a notification per email, if they have won the auction or not.
