Product Field Details

At the product field details page you can create a new custom field for products or edit an existing custom field.

The custom field properties form:

At the custom field properties form, you setup all properties for your product custom field.

The following fields are available:

Field Description
Add this field to The custom field group to add this field to.

Please note: The custom field group can be changed even after creating a field and assigning it to a group.
Field Name The field’s internal name
Field Caption The field’s caption that is visible in forms, etc.
Field Type The field’s type. Several options are available:
  • Text-Box
  • Drop-Down
  • Radio Buttons
  • Checkbox
  • Text Area


  • Please note: The field type is not changeable after you created the custom field.
    Is this field available Specify, if this field is currently available or not .
    Is this field required Specify, if this field is required or not.
    Priority The sorting priority of this field
    Maximum text length Maximum text length for the field
    (Only available for the “Text-Box” field type)
    Options (one per line) Option list for a select box or radio buttons field

    (Only available for the “Drop-Down” and “Radio Buttons” field type)
    Checked Value Value for the checked state of a checkbox.
    (Only available for the “Checkbox” field type)
    Unchecked Value Value for the unchecked state of a checkbox.
    (Only available for the “Checkbox” field type)

    After you entered and setup all properties, click on the “Save Changes” button at the bottom to save or create your custom field.

    If you change the field group (“add this field to”) of an existing custom field, it will be assigned to the new field group and removed from it’s current group.

    Please note: Although drop-down (select) and radio button option lists can be changed after they were created and used, new options should only be added below the current option list.

    1. Click on the “Cancel Edit” button to go back to the custom field’s group details page.

    2. Click on the “Manage Field Groups” button to go back to the product custom fields management page.
