Manage Product Types
At the product types page you can manage your product types. Product types are used to further categorize products or to simply group them.
e.g.: If you have a plethora of products in a category, and want to group them without creating extra sub-categories, or if you have several products in several categories that are of the same type, you can assign a product type to these products.
Product types function as product groups that are used to organize your products.
Product types are assigned to products at the product details page.
Please note: Each product can have one product type assigned. If you need a product to belong to several “groups”, use product tags instead.
At the top of the page you can select the language version of the product types you want to edit (if you have several active languages for the storefront active).

Click on the edit icon to see the language specific version of your product types list. A green border indicates that some settings for this language were previously created. A red border indicates, that a version for this language was not created yet.

The left side of the form (“New Item/Edit Item”) is used to add items to the product type list and modify existing items in the list.
The item ID is for internal use, whereas the item name is visible at the storefront and when selecting a type for a product.
Assign an item ID and a item name at “New Item/Edit Item”, then click on the “Add List Item” button to add an element to the product types list.
To edit an item from the list, click on the item in the “Items in List” select box then modify the fields at the “New Item/Edit Item” form fields.
To remove an item from the list select the item in the “Items in List” select box and click on the “Remove Selected” button.
After adding items to the list, modifying items or removing items press on the “Save Changes” button to save any changes to your product types list.
